Watch UFC 100

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has come a long way in the last 10 to 15 years or so. I can remember watching the very first UFC on video cassette. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Ever since then I have been extremely obsessed with watching every UFC and MMA event that I could. Back when they had the first UFC event in Denver, Colorado at the no-longer existent McNichol's Arena, MMA was not quite as defined as it is now. It was basically a street-fight where each person was experienced in one skill or another, but nobody was well rounded among all of the relevant martial arts. It was more or less a freak show with guys who had a bit of experience scrapping.

Now that the 100th UFC is approaching, I have been reflecting on how the sport of MMA has changed so much since its beginnings. UFC 100 boasts an amazing fight card with some of the most impressive fighters that the UFC has ever seen. Three of the fights on the card are so good that they could all potentially be a main bout on any other fight card. There are 2 belts on the line, and the U.S. vs U.K. rivalry that existed on the last season of The Ultimate Fighter will carry over into the Octagon tonight. Though many people insist that they do not want to shell out the money to watch a UFC pay-per-view, and they want to watch UFC 100 free, I would definitely have to argue that this fight will be worth the money of the PPV.

With my excitement growing as UFC 100 approaches, I am going to give my predictions for some of the more interesting fights of the night.

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir - Lesnar puts his Heavyweight championship belt on the line against Frank Mir who actually defeated Lesnar a while back with an ankle lock submission. Unfortunately for Mir, I really do not think he is going to have what it takes to beat Lesnar again. Although Brock Lesnar is a bit of a tool, and it almost seems like he thinks he is still in the WWE rather than the UFC, he just has too much power for Mir in my opinion. Lesnar's striking has looked to improve over his last few fights, and I am predicting that he will win by knockout in the 3rd round.

Georges St-Pierre vs Thiago Alves - St-Pierre currently holds the UFC welterweight championship belt and puts it on the line against Alves, who is the new up-and-comer who literally destroyed Matt Hughes in his last fight. Although I really like St-Pierre, I feel that Alves has a lot of confidence and I think that it is his time. I think that Thiago Alves will pull off an upset and win by knockout in the 4th round.

Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping - I have to say, I really liked both of these guys before the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter aired, in which they coached against each other. While I still like Henderson, I have realized that Bisping is not someone I will root for anymore. I don't want to go in depth as to why I don't like him, but lets just say I want Dan Henderson to walk right through him. That being said, I think the aging Henderson will be able to pull out a decision over Bisping because of his superior wrestling skills which I feel will effectively neutralize Bisping's striking.

Whoever wins any of these fights doesn't really matter too much to me, I'm just excited about the fact that this fight card is so stacked, and there is no way that spending the money to watch UFC 100 will end in disappointment. So if you are looking to watch UFC 100 free online, stop being cheap, shell out the dough and watch the show...it'll be worth it.
